Something that has come to mind, could this be related to the inhibitor switch? I find it strange that up until recently, all bar the 'D' shift indicators were working in the dash, and now none are. If I have researched correctly, the inhibitor switch operates these lamps, could a failed inhibitor switch also cause a harsh reverse shift and little to no drive when forward gears are selected?
